My cal fresh was stolen in the middle of the night as soon as it was issued. It's funny how they knew what my issue date was Inside job. And I call to report it and the ding bat on the phone asks me if I want her to send me a new card in the mail. What good does that do? So when you get cal fresh you have to run out and spend it all immediately before they steal it.

They definitely DO NOT stay open until 5pm. I spent time away from work and wasted precious gas to go before 5pm just to pick up my card at this location and was there at 4:45pm only to find they closed the gates before 5pm.
This is unacceptable for people who do work and need to buy food because they are hungry. This was a huge disappointment for such a large population state where the people depend on places like this for their livelihood. I am completely broke and hungry and have not had food in several days so I was looking forward to getting my card so I could eat tonight.
But they wanted to close the door 15 minutes early to get home to their families so they can eat dinner with them.
Bad bad business.

I came to them for help when I became homeless with no job and all the workers treated me as if I was less than dirt. I understand they have to deal with drug addics and alcoholics but I am not one of them. Regardless of who you are they will treat anyone with disrespect ( via sarcasm, eye rolling, and aggressive hastile demeanor). My assigned worker (short, Hispanic women name started with a C) purposefully stressed me out about getting a job and she knew I was homeless yet her response was "just get a job NOW, and deal with that later otherwise no one will help you here". I ended up getting a job and a place on my own with zero help from these horrible people. They don't care and they never will.

They have done nothing but help me out with what I needed. I haven't had any bad experiences, they've only been positive, with a few workers going out of their way to point me in the right direction. In my experiences, I felt they took a personable approach to me and didn't treat me like just another person. I appreciate what they do and am very thankful. I'm sure their jobs can be pretty stressful. Also dealing with some of the characters that come in must be difficult at times! Applying for aid is going to take some time, usually a whole business day, but they are pretty quick here. I was actually surprised and thought the process was fast. Coming in at 11am and being done at 2-3pm is unheard of in LA County.

Incompetent staff, they barely look into your account and to try and help you. You get one thing from your case worker then show up and they tell you something completely different regarding your account. They send you out with wrong information and mistakes.

This place is a nightmare. Showing up between 11am-12:30pm is your best bet. I went here 5 times in 8 days and morning time sucks! After 1pm sucks! The case workers I've had were very slow at processing and to "by the book" which was annoying. But it is cool u can get cash aid and food stamps on the same day if u get there before 12pm.

Always busy, the people outside line the block trying to give you a phone is a nuisance, security won't let you have anything except water inside the building. Once your battery is just about dead is when you are called back to get things done. Most of the workers know what they're doing.
