We spent 4 nights here as a family in 3 rooms, Indian, Ethnic and Monastic. As soon as you arrive here you fall under the spell of the place - stunning gardens, amazing views, the attention to detail in the interior design is amazing and makes the rooms feel really special. We also felt comfortable here with the children, they loved the delicious breakfasts and the pool. Would definitely recommend as a base to explore the Garrotxa volcanic region and local mountains where there are lots of activities to enjoy, the whole family are keen to return next summer. Thanks to Gilbert and the team for a very special holiday.

This gorgeous and interesting house, on many levels, is tucked away up a track in the countryside near Besalu (a lovely, historic town). It sits in large, beautifully kept grounds, with many sitting-out places, not just around the very nice pool. Each room has a different decorative theme. Ours, the Zen room, is at the top of the house, overlooking the hills, with a little balcony, a large and comfortable bed, and a sitting room; decorated in Chinese/Japanese style. We saw the other rooms - all beautiful, and a tribute to Gilbert's love of interior design.||Breakfasts are excellent, taken on one of the many little terraces. Gilbert offers light lunches and cooks a really superb evening meal on request, at very reasonable cost.||Car-hire is essential here, but it's a lovely region of Spain. Gilbert is very helpful and gives good advice for exploration and for eating out on 'non-Gilbert' nights. ||We hope to return!

Usually I prefer to spend my vacations on the seaside. My husband proposed to go for some days somewhere to the mountains to find some piece after our 2 weeks near the sea. So I did not expect something special there. But from our first steps near the hotel I was impressed by smell of flowers which was everywhere, very beautiful and arranged territory of the hotel, real feeling of piece and relax there. The swimming pool is very cleaned, plants around are beautiful, service is very attentive. It is incredible silence in the evening, you can hear just sounds of nature. We had a dinner in the hotel, and they organized really romantic atmosphere for us. It was a new surprising experience for me and I am happy I visited this place.

Tercera vez que íbamos a Can Serola. Lo mejor que puedo decir es que nada ha cambiado respecto de la primera visita: la casa es magnífica, muy cuidada (tanto el interior como las zonas exteriores); las habitaciones, espaciosas y confortables, decoradas con un gusto excelente. El desayuno de calidad y variado. La piscina grande y con vistas excelentes. El lugar rezuma paz, se respira aire puro y se disfruta del silencio y del magnífico entorno. En definitiva, un lugar para disfrutar que se paladea despacio.

Incredible place in a beautiful setting and AMAZING hosts. From the moment we arrived, Gilbert and Melissa made us feel like at home. Excellent tips for dinning and sightseeing we're a plus. The room was extremely nice and clean and the surroundings were extraordinary. The "Masia" itself is beautiful and the decoration is superb. One of the finest places we've been in Spain. Will CERTAINLY come back!

Ha sido un placer estar en Can Serola, lo recomiendo totalmente, un oasis de paz y tranquilidad, un hotel para desconectar, rodeados de prados verdes, árboles y montañas. Una habitación muy cómoda, con una temperatura ideal y se duerme muy bien! La piscina también es maravillosa y el desayuno y la cena espectaculares, rodeados de naturaleza y con unas vistas difíciles de encontrar. Sí, el paraíso existe!

We stayed in the Indian suite, a commodious suite with an excellent bathroom, and outdoor courtyard. The property is so well configured, we often felt like we had the place to ourselves.||||Can Serolat is an excellent base from which to explore such beautiful coastal towns as Cadaques and Begur, and is just minutes away from the medieval delights of Besalu and the surprisingly charming town of Olot. Trust Gilbert's immaculate taste to guide you to the many culinary delights offered by restaurants in the region, however, when he offers to cook, don't miss the opportunity of eating his exceptional food.||||Finally, the value is exceptional. Can Serola offers luxury at an affordable price.

Fuimos a pasar la noche de San Juan huyendo de los petardos con nuestra perra. |Como espacio las vistas son espectaculares... la piscina es grande y realmente es un sitio para desconectar. Tienen todos los exteriores muy cuidados. también debo decir que el servicio (tanto camareros como recepción,etc) es muy correcto. |Así como a los exteriores les doy un 10 en mi opinión las habitaciones flojean un poco... sobretodo en iluminación, fue una misión el maquillarme con tan poca luz, a parte, nuestra habitación, la ethnica, era bastante húmeda. En general está muy bien, pero creo que relación calidad-precio es un pelín caro. Aún y así no descarto volver algun día en plan desconexión porque para cargar pilas es ideal.
